STUDIO MAVERIK ART & MAKERS MARKET 2023 ~ APPLICATIONS NOW CLOSED

About the Studio Maverik Art & Makers Market in December 2023

The Studio Maverik Art & Makers Market is back for 2023 and we're planning on hosting an even bigger and more spectacular market than last year (which was pretty damn incredible).

We held this event in 2022, with an exceptional response from the public (500+ attendees, significant social media engagement and almost all artists selling out of their work). Last year, our makers ranged from visual artists to musicians (including Claire Ritchie, Forge Foward and Flowature). The market was held at The Station in Fortitude Valley and served as a social and cultural event, with patrons enjoying a live DJ set and refreshments sponsored by Young Henrys

Our 2022 market allowed over 20 local artists to showcase their craft, financially support their practice and reach a larger demographic in Brisbane. In 2023, we’re planning on expanding the market to be even bigger and better, hosted by the Milton Music & Culture Venue, Warehouse 25.

About Studio Maverik

Our names are Frances & Rhianna and we are Studio Maverik, a Meanjin (Brisbane) based community arts collective.

Studio Maverik was established in 2021 with the goal to bring life back to the local visual arts community after the pandemic. After both graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Art at Queensland College of Art, we founded Studio Maverik to facilitate life drawing and art events. Since opening, we have grown to 13k+ followers on Instagram, run weekly sold-out events and have established a strong sense of community among young local creatives.

If you would like to learn more about Studio Maverik and our upcoming market, please see our About Us page, Instagram and images from last year’s market. You can also check out our feature in ‘Artful Heads’, a local creative magazine, which profiled us earlier this year.
